Case Type: Workers’ Compensation

Injuries: Neck and Right Shoulder

What Happened?

Our client, a Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Specialist (SAPIS), was supervising kids as they went to/from classes. A fight broke out in one of the stairwells and our client was knocked down and injured. The insurance carrier tried to argue that he was a pedagogical employee and thus not entitled to Worker’s Compensation benefits.

The Results 💪

At The Disability Guys, we got to work! We researched the issue of pedagogical employees and fought the insurance company on the issue convincing the Judge that our client was not in fact a pedagogical employee and was entitled to medical treatment and monetary awards.
