Contact-form data for matters that did not result in an engagement is deleted after two years. Anything you send before an engagement is signed is not protected by attorney-client privilege.

4. Attorney-Client Privilege and Confidentiality
Information you submit through the Website prior to the formation of an attorney-client relationship is not protected by attorney-client privilege. Do not submit confidential, sensitive, or privileged information through a contact form or general email until you have been notified in writing that an engagement has been established.
Once an attorney-client relationship is formed through a signed engagement letter, communications between you and the Firm are protected by attorney-client privilege and by the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 1.6 (Confidentiality of Information).
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Vendors who assist with website hosting, email delivery, and analytics, subject to confidentiality obligations and prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements: When disclosure is required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Referral counsel: With your explicit consent, when we determine that a specialist in another area will achieve a better result for you and we refer your matter with your knowledge.
6. Data Retention
Inquiry and contact form data for matters that did not result in an engagement is retained for a maximum of two (2) years for conflict-check purposes, then permanently deleted. Records related to active or closed client matters are retained in accordance with New York State recordkeeping requirements for legal matters (generally a minimum of seven years post-closure). Analytics data is retained in aggregated form and is not linked to individual identities after 26 months.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format where technically feasible.

8. New York SHIELD Act
The Firm complies with the New York Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security (SHIELD) Act. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals as required by New York law.
