There are plenty of perks to living in the White Plains area, but one of our favorites is the variety of parks and outdoor recreational areas to enjoy during the warmer months of the year. Our White Plains workers compensation lawyers love taking our families out for weekend days in the park playing games, grilling, watching live entertainment, and just enjoying each other’s company. Yosemite Park is a simple but very well-put-together park that we love to visit. Here are some of our favorite activities to enjoy here:
If you like enjoying some friendly athletic competition, you’ve got plenty of options at Yosemite Park.
The park has tennis courts where you can enjoy a 1-on-1 or doubles match. Play a match as a family or find another couple of players to compete against. This is always a great way to have fun, bond together, and make new friends.
Of course, any good park has basketball courts. We love joining pickup games here during the summer when the park gets busy.
The park also has baseball and softball fields, where you can either organize your own game, play in a league, or simply spectate.
Picnic and Grilling Areas
In the summertime, you’ll likely catch the sweet aroma of barbeque wafting through the park. Bring your own supplies and enjoy grilling at the picnic area. Or simply bring a basket full of premade food and enjoy a summer picnic between games of basketball or tennis. This park is truly an idyllic setting for an outdoor meal.
Yosemite Park offers some casual games that both kids and parents can enjoy playing together.
Handball and Paddleball Court
If you’re a fan of handball or paddle ball, then you’re in luck at Yosemite Park. They have a court dedicated just to these games. With the relatively simple level of difficulty, we think this is one of the best games for competition between kids and parents. It’s also a great way to make new friends.
If throwing horseshoes is more of your thing, Yosemite Park also has you covered. The park has a horseshoe pit where you can enjoy a game with family and friends. These games definitely get competitive as players battle for bragging rights.
Yosemite Park has a large outdoor pavilion which is often used for outdoor concerts during the summer. This really adds a charming atmosphere to the park, as families enjoy picnicking, grilling, sports, and games with a nice soundtrack in the background.
