One of the most commonly asked questions that we get is why was my workers’ compensation benefit reduced. Believe it or not, even though the law says you are entitled to receive total disability after an injury that amount of money can be reduced.  Therefore, instead of receiving let’s say $600.00 a week you may only receive $300.00 a week in workers’ compensation.  The reason for this is that the insurance company has convinced the Workers’ Compensation Board in New York that if you are less than totally disabled you are not entitled to the proper benefits.  This has gone on for decades.  We constantly try to fight and increase the benefits but you have to understand that if you’re going to be out of work for a long period of time, even a short period of time, the insurance company will do everything in its power to try to reduce the amount of money that they pay you.  They do this so that they can save money and they can be the ones that profit.  Unfortunately, you’re the one that has to pay the price.  For more information about this or any other workers’ compensation topics get our free reports (click on the report on the right side) or call us.Thank you.
