However, the insurance company is allowed to have you examined from time to time with an examination known as โIndependent Medical Examโ or IME.
After all these years of doing this, thereโs usually nothing independent and sometimes nothing medical or even an exam about those exams. However, you have to go to these exams; otherwise, you can be denied benefits and denied treatment.
