If you’re planning a vacation to New York, you might be wondering about the famous bus tours the city has to offer. There are a variety of tour bus companies here, with different packages depending on what you want to see. Big Bus is definitely one of our favorite operators, and they offer several different tours which cater to different budges and interests. Our New York workers compensation lawyers highly recommend taking one of their bus tours if you’re trying to see some of the city’s most iconic landmarks during your visit.

The classic option is a one-day tour that offers a guided tour of several of the city’s most famous sites. They offer two different routes:

The Blue route goes to uptown and includes the following stops:

  • Broadway Theater District
  • Times Square East
  • Bryant Park
  • Grand Central Terminal
  • Midtown East
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art
  • The Frick Collection Museum
  • Central Park Zoo
  • The Plaza Hotel
  • Columbus Circle
  • Carnegie Hall
  • Times Square North
  • Madison Square Garden

The Red route is a downtown route that stops at the following landmarks:

  • Times Square East
  • Bryant Park
  • 5th Avenue Midtown
  • Empire State Building/Koreatown
  • Flatiron District
  • Union Square
  • Greenwich/NYU
  • NoHo
  • SoHo/Little Italy
  • Chinatown
  • Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall
  • Wall Street/Charging Bull
  • Statue of Liberty/Battery Park
  • Circle Line Sightseeing
  • Port Authority Bus Terminal
  • Restaurant Row
  • M&M’s World Stop

The premium option offers 5 different 2-day sightseeing tours. In addition to the same blue and red routes offered in the basic option, premium sightseers have three other options:

The Purple option is a Brooklyn tour which you can begin from four different stops. Highlights of this tour include:

  • Statue of Liberty/Battery Park
  • Barclays Center
  • Grand Army Plaza
  • One World Observatory (hop off only)

The Green route takes sightseers on a tour of some of Harlem’s most famous landmarks, such as:

  • Columbus Circle
  • American Museum of Natural History
  • Cathedral of St. John the Divine
  • Apollo Theater/Harlem

The Yellow tour allows you to “discover NYC by night.” These nighttime tours leave every 20-30 minutes from 6 pm to 8 pm and take you on a guided tour throughout the city as your expert tour guide fills you in on the significance of the city’s most famous sites. We think New York City is just as beautiful at night as when the sun is shining, as the city lights up.

In addition to a 2-day New York sightseeing bus tour, the Deluxe option also offers a free sightseeing cruise. We think seeing the city by water is one of the most majestic ways to take in the scope of this metropolis.

The Deluxe option offers the same five tour routes as the premium option.

New York + Washington DC Tour Pack

This is a great tour for visitors who want to see the nation’s capital as well as the Big Apple. It offers the same 2-day tour options as the premium level tours, along with a 1-day tour of Washington DC.
