Victor Schultz, a 49-year-old construction worker, was killed in a work-related car accident in Fort Salonga on Friday October 28th. The construction site where the incident took place was located on Route 25-A.

The accident occurred around 1:35 a.m. on October 28th when Schultz and a co-worker were loading a milling machine onto a trailer near the side of the road. A westbound SUV on Route 25-A struck Schultz; the driver then apparently fled the scene.

Schultz was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency workers arrived. The co-worker who was with Schultz at the time was thankfully unharmed in this hit-and-run accident.

Witnesses describing the incident to Long Island Police officers said the vehicle was dark in color, but no further information was available about the driver.

The Bronx workers’ compensation attorneys with Markhoff & Mittman, P.C. extend our sincere condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Schultz. We would like to remind all drivers to protect our New York workers by always slowing down and paying extra attention to the road in construction zones.
