Our White Plains workers compensation lawyers have always found Westchester to be a beautiful area, and the new Riverwalk Park project highlights the natural beauty of this area with a 51-mile riverwalk covering many beautiful parks throughout the county. If you’re looking for a fun outdoor activity in the area, we highly recommend visiting the nearest section of the Riverwalk. Here are some highlights from this project:
Esplanade Park
Located in and owned by the City of Yonkers, Esplanade Park features a 1,000-foot universally accessible esplanade with a pavilion, sculpture park, and historic Municipal Pier. This picturesque park overlooks the Hudson River and has breathtaking views of the Palisades. It’s open year-round from sunrise to sunset. After a nice day in the park, you can enjoy shopping or dining in downtown Yonkers.
Harbirshaw Park
Habirshaw Park is also in Yonkers, right in the heart of the city. The small 2-acre park offers beautiful views of the Palisades, along with a restored tidal marsh and beach. This park is county-owned and is home to the Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at Beczak (CURB). CURB promotes environmental education programs for the local community and is a regional center for Hudson River research and monitoring.
Kathryn W. Davis RiverWalk Center
In Sleepy Hollow, the Kathryn W. Davis RiverWalk Center is a newly restored 1926 Kingsland Point Park bathhouse, which has been converted into a center for river-based education and recreation. At the center of the bathhouse, you’ll find a pavilion where you can enjoy a nice picnic while taking in views of the iconic Hudson River. The historic lighthouse is right next to the park.
Scenic Hudson Park at Irvington
Formerly a waterfront industrial site, the Scenic Hudson project rehabilitating the site and converted it into a park, which is now co-owned by the Village of Irvington. Like the other parks on this list, Irvington offers a peaceful setting for taking in views of the Hudson River, along with the Manhattan skyline, Palisades, and Tappan Zee Bridge.
Scenic Hudson Park at Peekskill Landing
Peekskill has been known as a prime location for taking in the Hudson River for a long time, and the new Scenic Hudson RiverWalk project is the latest transformation of this beautiful natural area. Scenic Hudson purchased the property in 198 and has cleaned it up and revitalized it, with the addition of a shoreline boardwalk, a pedestrian footbridge connected to Riverfront Green Park, boat docks, a gazebo and trellis, and trails for running, biking, and walking.
