New York is a state with a variety of excellent breweries and a long tradition of beer appreciation. Our White Plains worker’s compensation lawyers love visiting the various breweries scattered throughout this area. Going to a brewery is much more interesting than going to a regular bar or pub. Some of these establishments offer tours and free samples. Additionally, you have the opportunity to learn about the beermaking process from the beermakers themselves. Here are some of our favorite breweries near White Plains:
Captain Lawrence Brewing
Since 2006, Captain Lawrence Brewing has been producing some of the best craft beer in the Westchester County area. The brewery is our favorite place to enjoy their wide selection of delicious housemade beers. Along with the impressive beer menu, they offer a food menu of tasty bar snacks and sandwiches. We’re also big fans of the ambiance here, with features like outdoor seating with lights, music, and friendly and helpful staff.
Broken Bow Brewery
Located in an industrial area of Tuckahoe, Broken Bow Brewery was established in 2013. The brewery and tasting room are small and intimate, with affordable 4-beer flights for just $8. While they don’t always serve food, you can bring in outside food or order delivery to the brewery if you choose. However, they do occasionally have a food truck here on Saturdays. They also have a selection of board games, making for a fun atmosphere while you enjoy your favorite beers and discover new ones.
Sing Sing Kill Brewery
Sing Sing Kill Brewery is a small brewery/brewpub located in the heart of Ossining. The facility is broken into three rooms, with a foyer in the middle, a microbrewery on the left side of the entrance, and a bar/tasting room on the right. They have a wide selection here, with anywhere from 10 to 15 beers on tap at any given time. You can find basic favorites like IPAs here, along with offbeat brews like Milkshake Rye Imperial.
Half Full Brewery
Half Full Brewery is located just outside downtown Stamford, CT – about a 30-minute drive from White Plains. But if you’re a craft beer connoisseur looking to try out some new beers, we think it’s well worth the drive. The brewery serves a great combination of core and seasonal beers. Some of our favorites from Half Full Brewery include Bright (blonde/pale ale hybrid), Liquid Hoptimism (double IPA), and Rise & Shine (cold brew coffee porter).
Gun Hill Brewing Company
If you don’t mind driving into the city, Gun Hill Brewing Company has an excellent brewery in the Pelham Gardens section of the Bronx. This is about a 40-minute drive from the city, but we think it’s worth it. And if you’re already near the Bronx and looking for a great spot to enjoy some craft beer, Gun Hill is probably your best bet.
