The hamlet of Campbell Hall is situated in the northern region of Hamptonburgh in Orange County, New York. The hamlet is the principal community within the town and sits on New York Route 207. Early History

The greater region was included in the patent of 1703, which was designated to Christoper Denn, among others. The community was named in honor of the Scotchman Colonel Campbell. He had two sons that became rivals during the Revolutionary war. One brother sided with the British while the other with their newly adopted country.
