Jainarine Depoo, of Wallkill, was killed in a Middletown workplace accident on June 14, 2011. Depoo was an assembly line worker with Corsicana Bedding. He was 47 years old.
According to police reports, Depoo was working with a mattress-bagging machine at Corsicana Bedding on the day of the accident. He got caught between two rollers on the machine, where he remained trapped. Depoo's chest was reportedly crushed in the accident.
Depoo was removed from the machine by his co-workers and then flown to Westchester Medical Center. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital. In his obituary, Mr. Depoo's family described him as a "hard-working and loving man."
The Wallkill Police Department and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating this worksite accident.
