OSHA (The Occupational Safety and Health Administration) officials went back to the Service Manufacturing plant in Buffalo only to find that they did NOT correct safety harzards which were cited at their plant over one year ago. Proposed fines now total close to $107,000.
The initial inspection, conducted in March 2009, sited 12 violations of safety standards. Of course, the company agreed to fix the problems. When OSHA went back 7 months later to be sure the problems were fixed appropriately they found that 8 of the 12 violaations had not been corrected.
The safety hazards cited have a direct impact on workplace safety and continue to expose workers to potential fire and other injuries. Be sure you are aware of your workplace rights should you find yourself working for a company where dangerous conditions exist.
