How do the attorney fees work in workers’ compensation?

If you are an injured worker and applying for workers’ compensation benefits, most likely you don’t have a lot of spare money to pay an attorney.  What do you do about the attorney fees in a workers’ comp case? In workers’ comp, the attorney’s fee is determined by the judge and does not come out of your benefits. In fact, it is illegal for a workers’ compensation attorney to charge a fee. All of the attorney’s fee comes out of the benefits.
