Lewisboro, NY Disability Lawyer

The town of Lewisboro, New York is located in Westchester County and includes the six communities of Wuccabuc, Lewisboro, Golden's Bridge, Cross River, South Salem and Vista.  The eastern part of what is now Lewisboro was purchased by citizens of nearby Greenwich, CT and Stamford, CT, and the area was first settled later in the 18th century by Solomon Tuttle and William Truesdale.  The western part of the town was part of Cortlandt Manor, owned by Stephanus van Cortlandt.  in 1790, the New York State Legislature compounded these two areas to create the current boundaries of the town.  in 1840, a member of the town John Lewis requested that the town name be changed from South Salem to Lewisboro to honor him and his success on Wall Street.
