A worker was injured in an on-the-job accident in Buffalo on October 11th, according to authorities. The worker was injured while inspecting a bridge for the New York State Department of Transportation. The worker was part of a crew from Ravi Engineering & Land Surveying, who contract with New York State for these kinds of inspections.

The worker sustained injuries to the head and shoulders when he fell into an access pit during an inspection of the bridge on Bailey Avenue, which crosses the Buffalo River. Because of the nature of the bridge, workers have to climb down into these access pits to assess the state of the structure. The job was almost finished when the slip-and-fall accident took place. The worker is said to have fallen about 10 feet.

Although he did sustain injuries, none of the injuries were suspected to be life-threatening. Authorities at the scene said the worker was in "good shape."

The White Plains workers' compensation lawyers with Markhoff & Mittman, PC hope the unnamed injured worker experiences a speedy recovery and can be back on his feet soon.
