A Patchogue construction worker sustained serious leg injuries in an industrial accident in Shirley, New York on September 27th. Suffolk County police are investigating, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified.

The accident took place around 1:30 p.m. at Clare Rose Distributors, which is located at 100 Rose Executive Boulevard. When police arrived on the scene, they found 56-year-old Julio Granados entangled in a large compacting baler at the site. Sargent John O'Sullivan and officers Richard Park and Michael Popielaksi worked to successfully free Granados from the machinery.

Emergency care was administered at the scene to stabilize Granados after his serious injuries. He suffered severe injuries to both legs and had lost a lot of blood, according to reports. Granados was transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center. At last report, he was in serious condition.

The White Plains workers' compensation lawyers with Markhoff & Mittman, PC are always sad to hear of these types of devastating work injuries. We wish Mr. Granados and full and speedy recovery.
