Fish Peddler Convicted of Workers’ Comp Fraud

Another case of workers' comp fraud…..

Edward Panus, a fish merchant from Afton, NY, was convicted of illegally collecting $66,000. in workers' comp benefits while operating a fish stocking business near his home.  Panus was receiving disability benefits for a back injury dating back to 1988.  He was found guilty of submitting numerous work activity reports stating that he was not working in ANY capacity.  Panus faces up to 4 years in prison.
