Ardsley, New York is located in the suburban region of Westchester County. Originally called Ashford, the village was home to a sawmill, grist mill, blacksmith shop and three pickle factories. Because there were two Ashford, New Yorks, the town name was changed to Ardsley in 1883 so that they could acquire their own post office.
